      Key Point: Your data stays local. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, text content, or rewritten text to our servers.

2.1 Data Stored Locally (On Your Device)

The following data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and never leaves your device:

User Settings: Your AI provider preference, API key (encrypted), and tone preferences
Rewrite History: Previously rewritten text (stored for your reference only)
License Information: Your license key and validation status
Usage Counters: Daily rewrite count (for free tier limits)

2.2 Data Sent to Third-Party AI Providers

When you rewrite text, the following data is sent directly to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic):

Selected text content you want to rewrite
Your chosen tone and style preferences

Important: This data is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider using your own API key. It does not pass through our servers.

2.3 Data Sent to Startvest Servers

The only data sent to our servers is:

License Validation: Your license key (sent to verify validity and retrieve tier limits)

We do NOT collect or receive: your text content, rewritten output, or AI provider API keys.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we receive for:

License Validation: Verifying your license key is valid and active
Tier Enforcement: Determining which features you have access to based on your license tier
Customer Support: Helping you if you contact us with issues

4. Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab: Grants temporary access to the current tab only when you click the extension icon or use the context menu.
storage: To save your settings and history locally in your browser.
contextMenus: To add right-click menu options for rewriting selected text.

4.1 What We Do NOT Access

Your browsing history: We cannot see what sites you visit.
Other tabs or windows: We can only access text you explicitly select.
Form data or passwords: We never access sensitive input fields.

5. Data Security

All data stored locally uses Chrome's secure storage API
API communications use HTTPS encryption
Your AI provider API key is stored locally and never transmitted to our servers

6. Data Retention

Local Data: Stored until you clear browser data or uninstall the extension
License Records: We retain license purchase records for accounting and support purposes

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: View all data stored locally by the extension
Delete: Clear all local data by uninstalling the extension
Deactivate: Deactivate your license at any time

8. Third-Party Services
