2.1 Data Stored Locally (On Your Device)

The following data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and never leaves your device:

User Settings: Your AI provider preference, API key (encrypted), and organization preferences
Tab Groups: Your saved tab group configurations
Group Templates: Custom grouping rules and categories
Session History: Saved tab sessions for later restoration
License Information: Your license key and validation status
Usage Counters: Daily organization count (for free tier limits)

2.2 Data Sent to Third-Party AI Providers

When you organize tabs with AI, the following data is sent directly to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic):

Tab titles and URLs of your open tabs
Your grouping preferences

Important: This data is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider using your own API key. It does not pass through our servers.

2.3 Data Sent to Startvest Servers

The only data sent to our servers is:

License Validation: Your license key (sent to verify validity and retrieve tier limits)

We do NOT collect or receive: your tab URLs, tab titles, browsing history, or AI provider API keys.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we receive for:

License Validation: Verifying your license key is valid and active
Tier Enforcement: Determining which features you have access to based on your license tier
Customer Support: Helping you if you contact us with issues

4. Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

tabs: Required to read and organize your open tabs. This is the core functionality of the extension.
tabGroups: Required to create and manage Chrome tab groups.
storage: To save your settings, templates, and saved sessions locally.

4.1 What We Do NOT Access

Page content: We only read tab titles and URLs, not the content of pages.
Browsing history: We cannot access your historical browsing data.
Bookmarks: We do not access your bookmark data.
Downloads: We do not access your download history.

5. Data Security

All data stored locally uses Chrome's secure storage API
API communications use HTTPS encryption
Your AI provider API key is stored locally and never transmitted to our servers
Tab data is only processed when you explicitly trigger organization

6. Data Retention

Local Data: Stored until you clear browser data or uninstall the extension
License Records: We retain license purchase records for accounting and support purposes
Saved Sessions: Kept locally until you delete them

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:
